When building this house, the current owner/general contractor started with thick, highly concentrated cement footings featuring extra steel. They used 2 x 12 fir joists and 5/8 fir plywood for the floors (instead of particle board). The outside walls are framed with 2 x 6, and very well insulated (to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter). ‘The Main floor features 9′ ceilings, beautiful feature stairway to second story rooms, extra wide (4 feet) hallways, all add to the spacious feeling in the home. All of the doors are 36 inches wide; making it easier to move furniture in and out of the rooms. The ceilings feature flattened California style texturing with smooth borders (the main level ceiling is beautifully finished with crown moulding). Wide casings were used for all of the windows and doors. The (Energy Star Rated) windows also feature extra wide sills. Industrial quality paint was used throughout.
